LEST WE FORGET

  HISTORY PROJECT

AN ONGOING PROJECT OF COMMEMORATION UNDERTAKEN BY SENIOR HISTORY STUDENTS AT MACKAY NORTH SHS

Since its inception in 1999, this school History project has undertaken five separate commemorative tours to the battlefields, memorials and cemeteries of Gallipoli, Northern France and Belgium, the Thai Burma Railway and Singapore.

The project has been featured on two occasions on the ABC's 'Australian Story'.

The original program appeared on November 4, 1999, after the first tour, and an update program aired on April 17, 2006.

Below are links to the Austory website which has information about the programs. The 2006 program webpage, 'It Was at Gallipoli" also has a video podcast (of both programs).
